water filter canister busted!!! help!!

Just remember there's no filter inside so you have to pre-filter water going into the FW tank if using tank and pump. You will have no filter for whatever comes out of the FW tank via the pump, beyond the manual filling filtration. Expect replies saying "I don't drink that anyway."

As well as making the water drinkable the filter keeps out the 'crude' and particulates that cam clog up faucets and valves in the trailer.

If you remove the internal factory installed filter and go with the external "blue bullet" Camco filter, be aware that the blue filter will only filter to 100 microns (i.e. sand and grit size particles) but the factory filter will trap much smaller particles, likely somewhere from 0.5 microns to 5 microns, and improve smell and taste.

If you only want to filter out sand, the Camco external filter will work fine.

As others have noted, without the factory filter you don't have any filtering of water in your fresh water tank so if you want it filtered you'll have to filter it before you put it in the tank.

My Dynamax DX3 Super C had a PROPRIETARY water filter installed at the factory. I had a local RV shop remove that OEM albatross and install a "standard" filtration unit that uses readily available filter cartridges. I get better filtration at a fraction of the cost and, I can get replacement media anywhere.

Hello Everyone,

Well, I have water!!!!!!!!

I read the posts here and watched videos on youtube and then this morning I went to Lowes and bought the supplies I needed to bypass the filter. I did exactly what was recommended and thank goodness you guys know what you are doing and saying.

Anyway, I deeply appreciate all of your help and input on this issue. I will forever be grateful of your help and guidance.

Good, just be sure to use the bullet filter to fill your FW tank.

if you want, you can add a PUR or other brand faucet type filter to the kitchen sink.

I had an canister break a couple of years back,,, I did not realize until I replaced it that the unit it screwed to was broken also !!!
