Water Filter which is best?

I have a 2007 Wildcat with the factory installed water filtration system. However, when i use the supplied filter that came with it, my flow rate is very poor. Not much more than a strong trickle. Without the filter the flow is much more tolerable. I am using a regulator, the cheap pre-set kind. Is there a better filter that will not reduce my flow rate so drastically.
Thanks

I installed the cheap plastic regulator at first also, and my pressure was very poor. Since then, I haven't used a regulator, and my pressure is fine. I really don't believe that except for a few isolated cases, that they are needed at all. I don't think I'll use one. Randy

Get a good regulator.
If a fitting blows off one day while you are away, it will REALLY ruin
your day.

Peace!

There are some regulators you can buy that you may set the pressure. (more $$$) I've got the cheapie...and to be honest I don't even use it anymore. (same flow restriction)

Our Salem came with an onboard (whole house) type water filter. It had a .5 micron filter. I replaced it this season, and used a 1 micron inside. The flow is good.

I bought a nice brass one that the dealer insisted I use. We put it on and hooked up, the water flow pressure was terrible! Took it off, and have good water pressure in our seasonal camp. The camp is on a pumped well water system.
We never leave the water on when were not there, so hopefully we should be allright.

watts makes a good pressure regulator, its adjustable but the down side is flow is not as good as "main lining " it
however where are "living" the pressure fluctuates from 40 -90 psi depending on the day of the week, weekends its nuts
so i use it

i to use a 1 micron whole house filter from lowes, i beleive its made by whirpool and its a standard size so it fits in the system onboard your forest river product

also the water heater has a pretty restictive flow thingy in teh its outlet side as the do all the faucets, i removed all mine and it helped ALOT

I bought 6 replacement filters off an eBay store for under $28 shipped.
Seller was 'H2O Splash.' Quick shipping, great help in getting me what I needed.
