Water Heater

We have a 2018 Rockwood MiniLite 2507s. We were looking at an Apex and decided the Rockwood seemed like a better quality camper. But since we got it 2 months ago, the TV has had to be replaced along with the entertainment center, and one of the footrests on the couch needed to be fixed. Now the gas side of the hot water heater won't come on. I've tried turning the gas off and restarting it several times, but it looks like it's headed back to the dealer again. Not sure I didn't make a mistake.

this may seem like a dumb question but did you try the gas after having had the electric on? It may be that the water in the tank is already hot so the gas side is not starting just something to check. Make sure the electric side is off.

Well I feel stupid, but I appreciate the follow up. That's exactly What the problem was. I turned off the electric and ran down the hot water. Then turned on the gas water heater switch and it fired up. The first time there must have been a little gas build up because it made a pretty big bang the first time it kicked off. It seemed fine after that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have thought of it, but I was too busy thinking about what could be wrong to think about the obvious issues.
