water heater help

My water heater makes a clicking sound but won't start what is the problem thanks for your help

Additional information is needed in order to help. I assume you are talking about the LP side of your WH if you are talking about clicking... Is this a new rig or first time you are using it this year? It may take time for propane to fill your lines and reach the water heater. Does your stove ignite?

If you have a Suburban brand water heater this may help:

The first thing to always check, is to make sure you have propane and the cylinder valves are open/on.

If you have never used the propane option, or have air in the lines, your water heater may go into lockout mode. It's explained in the link above.
