Water leak

We have a 2019 Forest River Sabre 36 HBQ. We noticed that there was water in the pass through in the underbelly storage below the shower. We siliconed around everything and it still leaks! Help! What could it be? We did check the lines behind the hot/cold faucets in the shower, it was dry!

Water INSIDE a storage area pass through is usually a plumbing leak, especially if you found the water below the shower. Have you checked the shower drain?

2019... is it not under warranty?

Wet walls and floors can often times be leaks from the roof or a seam and water can run across supports and be in a totally different area than where the water is found.

Also, silicone isn't recommended as a sealant for R/Vs.
Nothing will stick to it, even itself once cured.

ProFlex RV or Lexel is the sealant of choice for R/V sides/trim.

Any chance you might have a fault in the weather stripping on the pass-through access doors outside that's letting rain in? I mention it as we used to have that trouble on an older trailer we used to have.

We have checked the drain also! The dealer we bought it from is no help at all! We are beyond aggravated! Thank you for telling me Lexel! The only time it leaks is after you shower. We check it daily. We will get up on the roof and check for cracks! Thank you!

Well you need to be checking the shower more closely then.

Cracks in the shower pan are not unheard of (and often only seen when standing in the shower) and water can easily run behind the spigots controls or a screw head.

Best of luck finding it and sorry to hear about your dealer.
Often times finding a good dealer is as important as the purchase itself.

Mobile techs can work on warranty issues as well. Maybe find a good one in your area. Good ones are usually are capable of handling warranty claims.

DO NOT use Lexel or ProFlex RV on the roof.
That is a job for Dicor self leveling sealant or Super Flex sealant if you have an Alpha TPO roof.

5picker.... gave you very good advice !

My shower leaked at the base of the glass panel where it was mounted to the curb...it looked to be caulked, but after standing inside and washing down the glass I could see it move slightly on the shower base curb, also there was water on the outside of the curb.

Also...from experience, you will have to be carful about how you use the shower wand.
By that I mean not to spray full force water pressure directly at the base curb where it meets the plastic wall panel.
In most cases there is no sealant there to prevent water being forced up and over the curb lip behind the shower wall panel and run down behind the base where it could possibly drain down into the storage area....following the drain pipe access.

This may or may not pertain to your rig but it does mine and others I've seen.

hope this helps

If it's under warranty, you can use an independent RV shop or mobile RV tech. You just have to be willing to be reimbursed.
