Water pressure

We have 2013 sanibel 3501. When hooked to campground city water supply with a pressure regulated installed at the hose , our water pressure for showers is very low. My question is ; with the pex plastic water lines installed on the trailer , is it necessary to use a pressure regulated. Thanks for the help.

I often have to take the regulator out. A Inline water filter provides some reduction in pressure as well I have a Water Softener so I have enough restriction.

I would always use one as some campgrounds can have very large variations in pressure. If you get near the feed point in a very large campground, you could get very high pressure. If the water pressure isnt over 60psi you wont need a pressure reducer.

A watts preset 50psi regulator and a 5/8 hose will maintain a safe pressure while allowing maximum volume flow. Neither is expensive. Then it's up to what type faucets you have. Some faucets are water saver type and an RV doesn't need those. JMO

I always check the water pressure at the hydrant with my trusty Home Depot water pressure gauge before hooking up. City water at my home is 60 psi haven't found a campground over 45 psi. I take several readings at different times if it remains 45 or under I don't use a regulator. I am still new to camping and after set up I walk the area to see what people are using, I see very few pressure regulators and surge protectors being used. Just a noisy observation.
