Water pump replacement
I'm going to get a new water pump to use for filling the fresh water tank from an external 50 gallon tank (Vengeance trailers cannot be filled via gravity...have to have pressure). My current installed pump is a Shurflo 4008-101-E65 which if used for the external fill project would be acceptable.
Question is does anyone have experience with replacing the standard Shurflo (3.0 GPM and 55 psi) with a pump putting out 5.0 GPM at 60 psi? Would it be noisier or have too much pressure?

in many cases youll be fine replacing the pump with the 5gpm 60 psi, as far as sound goes what unit will you be using?

In the pictures on the websites, both pumps say SEAFLO on the motors!

the fact that no where else in the product description does it say seaflo makes me believe that it is a stock image and not a seaflo pump.

Yeah, they appear to be the same unit in different colors. The Seaflo has Prime shipping.

candidly, I'd trudge down to your local TSC or farm store and get it there They all carry Shurflow pumps because it's an ag item. Used in spray applications.
Don't get an import knockoff. Get the best the first time.

I just bought a 60 gal water storage bag and pump myself for when we stay at CG's with no water hookups. I was going to do the same thing and buy a replacement pump that would work in my TT for when one goes bad.
The problem is RV water pumps are pressure pumps. They turn on/off by pressure needs in water system. What you need is a transfer pump so you can manually turn pump on/off as needed. I ended up buying this one.

You could probably mess with the pump and make it work but I elected not to and just bought what I needed. $85.00 on Amazon.

Are you going to leave the water bag in place or place it on the bed of your truck, or?? If you are leaving it in place, and you have a winterizing hose, why not just extend that hose to the new tank? Switch the input from the onboard tank to the hose. You wouldn't need to buy an additional pump. It should work fine, since the pump will simply pull the water from there, instead of the onboard water tank.

No winterizing hose setup on my rig. I just use air and it has worked fine. I haven't decided on the water bag or a 60 gallon plastic tank I already have, but leaning toward the bag mainly for space saving. I've also discovered a 115 volt ac pump will be a lot faster.
I'm currently building a double stack rubber pad to mount the RV pump on and if it eliminates noise and vibration as hoped then I'll go with the AC powered pump.

Actually RV pumps turn OFF by pressure and turn on when powered. They will continue to run until pressure is built. They would work just fine for a transfer pump.

The standard RV pump will run fine until it senses pressure buildup on the output side. Since the flow from the pump won't see back pressure until I move the supply valve lever from the fresh water fill to city water supply then it will run continuously. Once I move the valve the pump will sense the pressure build up and shut off (50-60 psi).

That's true it will not shutoff by itself. As long as your neighbor don't stop over and start talking to you and you forget to shutoff the valve you will have no problem. At least it just the fresh water tank. Ask Aquaman how he knows about this.
