Water regulator

Turned water on to the camper yesterday afternoon and had water just fine. Later in the afternoon I lost all pressure in the lines. Checked that the water was on...ok. Checked that there wasn't water pouring out from underneath ... Ok. Unhooked hose from camper ... Ok. Hooked back up... Nothing. Removed regulator... All ok. Tested regulator, and as soon as any pressure is put to it, it shuts off any flow. Anyone ever have this happen?

What kind/type/brand is this you speak of?
Does in have a screen plugged on the inlet side?

It's a Camco non adjustable. The screen is clear. Hooked it up to the spigot and as soon as I turned on the water, it would spit, then nothing. Guessing the internal spring gave up its magic powers.

I always wonder why people use these things, I have never been in a campground where the pressure was high, been in lots where the pressure was way low.

With your expertise, take it apart and investigate. I'm sure you can fix it.

If it is a stainless regulator they will do what you have going on. Don't know why. Get a brass regulator if applicable.

It was a brass regulator. I brought it home, if I get a chance, I'll tear into it.

Youroo, where are you camping in Huntsville? We stayed at Monte Sano SP on top of the mountain when we were there in May.

Take pictures. Will bet there is corrosion on the internals from acid water.

There was this ole prankster in NC that mentioned putting a slug in his friends water hose and stopping it up. Took the guy almost an hour tearing things apart, getting the campground manager, scratching his head...., before he figured it out. That was the first thing I did, check for a slug.

Never heard of such a thing, altho' I did hear of a kid putting part of a hot dog in a girl's clarinet just before she was to play a solo. She sure had a funny look on her face after the first attempt at playing. Band instructor had no sense of humor.
