Water softeners

Does anyone have a water softener on your RV ? I am thinking of getting one but since we don't drink the water I'm getting cold feet.

Since I use the water from what ever campground I am at, I am fine with just an in-line filter. Coffee and drinking water come from bottles, though we have used tap water occasionally.
Some campgrounds already have soft water.

I've been kicking the water softener thing around for a long time now.
Since I'm on a seasonal site with well water I do have an interest.
We dont drink the water or would we drink it soften. We do filter the water, so what is the real benefit here?

Hear some have cheap plastic fittings that break...

If folks that have one could post what they have , likes and dislikes about their softener would help. Link would be nice as well.
