water system monitor reversed for black and grey

I am a newbie and getting set for my first trip. I have a salem cruise lite and was checking the water system out today. I hooked up to my water hose and ran water through the shower, bath sinkl and kitchen sink. I did not flush tghe toilet. My black tank had no water in it but the monitor showed 1/3 full and the grey showed empty. It seems the sensor wires from the tanks are going to the wrong monitor lights. Easy enough to live with as long as I remember that when I push the grey button I'm getting the results of the black tank. But is there an easy way to get to where I can switch the wires?

We have a Cruise Lite 210RBXL and it had a somewhat similar problem - the wires for the grey tank were reversed so that it went from empty to full as soon as any water was added. I looked at the color sequence for the blank tank and it was different so I changed the wires on the grey tank to be in the same sequence as the blank tank and now it works perfectly.

So, you could either make a new label for the monitor or switch the wires around if they are long enough (or you want to splice them)

Never have tried it but I strongly suspect if you pull the monitor panel off the wall you could just swap two wires on the back of the buttons and fix the issue.

Since the tank levels are known to be suspect, the first thing I'd do is run the black tank full of water and make sure it reads on the grey tank button. If it does then I'd say that the wiring is switched. In that case it's pretty easy to switch the wires at the panel.

Similar to Bama's suggestion, I'd recommend you fill one of the tanks first (either grey or black) and check where it reads. Then, dump that tank and fill the other tank, also check where it reads. We've seen reports on here before of some models having bathroom sinks, showers, etc... plumbed into black tanks. If you have access to a sewer site, you might want to also determine where each sink is plumbed. Drain everything, close both, run a single tap for 10-20 minutes, drain a tank to determine where that water went. Repeat with next tap.

Once all that's done and you've got confirmation about which tank is which, if you need to swap the lights on the monitor, you should be able to do it right behind the monitor. Just need to pull it off and the wires for each should be right there.

I think you will find that the monitor lights and switches are mounted on a circuit card. You will have to identify which wires are swapped at the card mating connector. It is not difficult but not just a matter of switching a wire at the push button switch with another. I believe this is correct.

Our black and grey tanks are backward also. I looked at switching wires don't until warranty is off. It looks a little more complicated than I thought it would?

I had a 17rbls with the same issue. After exploring the back of the wiring plate I decided it was easier to make small labels and just relabel them. It was out of warranty.
