Water tanks

I recently purchased a 2004 forest river salem model, this trailer has two dump hookups one in the rear for grey water and black water and the other hookup midway underneath galley which looks like its for the fresh water tank maybe. I opened the valve and took cap off and it seems as if sewage came out, it was brown water with an aweful smell to it. Is there something that might b bypassed with the other tanks that made it come out of the galley tank or could i by doing something wrong. Im confused with this all.

I've never seen a trailer with a dump hookup for the fresh water tank (but that doesn't mean some trailers don't have them). Drain pipes for fresh water are generally the size of normal water lines. Sewer dump pipes for black water are generally larger in diameter than for grey water.

I'm not familiar with your trailer. Does it have two bathrooms? If so and they are not close together, you probably DO have 2 black water tanks.
