Watts water pressure regulator

I'm looking at buying a adjustable Watts water pressure regulator with gauge for my TT. What model do i need and what fittings to hook up to a water hose ?

That's a pretty handy little PRV. I wonder how long it will last with a continuous high incoming pressure. That probably doesn't really matter for most RVers, though, as I have found most parks to have pretty reasonable water pressure. The higher the incoming pressure compared to the reduced pressure, the shorter the life of the PRV.

I service several areas with street pressures of 100-120 psi. Most of these houses have PRVs installed, reducing the pressure to around 60 psi, and I have found the life of quality PRVs, such as the various Watts models to be about 8 years. They just wear out and it doesn't make sense to rebuild them, so they are replaced. I have noticed that the larger (actual physical size, not pipe size) the PRV, the longer it lives. This is why I question the lifespan of the PRV you linked to -- it is very small.

Yes it is small when compared to a unit used in a stick house but it is lite weight which may be important.

How long it will last would depend on how much it gets used, with my luck it would make it one day past the warranty from the manufacture....

Camp world sells one a little cheaper.

I would go with the Watts any day. They have proven to be the best PRVs in houses, so I am sure it will out perform any other brand of similar size.

That's the one I use. I've only had it a year but so far it's holding up. Can't compare it to the watts, but it's better than the non-adjustable $4 water restricter the dealer had thrown in when we first bought our rig. At least now I can dial in per campground and try to keep the pressure up in the shower. With the restricter, we had terrible pressure all the time.

One thing to note is that it can be heavy. I've been at some sites where the weight of the regulator and our brass 't' was pulling the tap away from the post when the tap is just stapled to the post. A couple of zip ties come in handy for situations like those.

Agreed on the Watts quality. We bought a small household Watts on clearance (see link below) from Lowes. Added brass fittings to adapt from water hose to ½ inch. This set up requires a small 3 foot second water hose, with the unit left at the spigot or locked inside the water bay. We just felt that a household unit used in an RV, should last forever while providing optimal water flow and pressure protection....with a total cost of about $40.00.

I was in one that had a water system like that, State Highway 64 between Williams, AZ. and the Grand Canyon.

The morning we left in one of the unoccupied sites the faucet blew off the plastic pipe water was like 3-5 feet in the air, panic ensued.

Did not hang around long enough to see how it worked out....

You'll pay about twice that for a LF25AUB-Z3 now. Maybe you bought yours prior to the NSF/ANSI 372 regulations going into effect.

Agreed, we got a good deal and not too concerned on the water regulations as we have a double filter system. However, even at twice the cost, of one today, this will likely last longer than many of those made for RV's and provide better water flow. Also prefer not having it hang on the post, locked away and secure in the water bay. The cost to build it today would be about the same as the Valterra.

A couple of the campgrounds we have booked at for this summer trip out west require water pressure regulators on all connections. One particular CG required that hoses be disconnected at night. We didn't book there, just remember it and thought it was a little weird.

I picked mine up from one of the big boxes. They are threaded for NPT (regular plumbing threads), so I also got brass adapters to go from regular plumbing threads to garden hose threads - also purchased at the big box.
