BTW, how long have you had the RV and how long have you been putting the wipes down the toilet.

When we first got ours, we clogged it up with toilet paper. Had to fish it out with a coat hanger also. We learned that we were not using enough water when flushing.
About a month, been using wet wipes the hole time

OP did indicate that the black tank valve was open during use so there is a mountain in the tank.

Dan-nickies right, might be a combo of both issues. Back flusher may help the tank jam. But I would work on the toilet jam first then keep filling the tank and dumping until no more wet ones come out..

Edit: unless what your seeing and feeling IS the tank jam!

Water is your black tanks best friend so close the valve and add as much as you can and add a waste digesting treatment and let it sit 24 hours.

Drain the tank and then use one of the wands poste above with the tank valve open because it is going to take a lot of water.
If the clog is in the tank, your only hope is using a dissolving treatment like Unique's RV-Digest-It or a healthy dose of RID-X and a 72-96 hour "soak"

Be sure to follow directions and add enough water to fill the black tank (without overflow. There is no fast fix that does not involve a tank replacement.

As you discovered (the hard way), do not use flushables or dump with less than 3/4 full of water.

In the case of RVs; "down" is never "gone"

You most likely buggered your tank level indicators as well. There are several good threads on black tank maintenance. While your tank soaks I suggest you read up on it.

Prevention of this problem is much easier than dealing with the aftermath unfortunately.

If your working from the black tank outlet just be careful and make sure your protected with gloves and face shield. Did you notice any drop in the fluid level in the toilet when you pushed the hose up? Since your working the outlet you could try a wet vac. I'd try pushing on the blockage first just jogging the outlet/blow side of the vac be ready to close your valve against any brown tidal wave. If that doesnt do anything try the suction side. This might be a little risky as you may be pulling more wipes into the lines. rotating between suction and blowing the lines may break the clog without adding any additional water. Worst case senerio you may have to empty tank from above with water vac. It wont be pretty

Keep at it until you get all the stuff out.

Got it, got a bunch of wet wipes and poo, Also a handful of black Beatles. Used a combination of the hose from outside and a per form ( 6 foot peace of twisted metel for holding wire) down the toilet for two hours and boom poo title wave. Thanks for the input. Gordon.

Good now put 10-15 gallons of water in there WITH THE VALVE closed and some of this.

Great effort and teamwork! Not a fun task and one that is dreaded by all of us. Although, I have a built in tank flush, I always carry a Flush King just in case. I had an issue with wet wipes clogging the sticks n' brick toilet...you need to make sure that guests also know the toilet rules!

rule of thumb

I read once, if you want to put it in the toilet, try this first

put some water in the sink. put a piece of the paper in the water wait about 10 seconds, use your hand and slosh the paper about for about 10 seconds, if it starts to dissolve, it is safe for the toilet, if not, don't use it! This is how I buy my paper, not all paper is marked sewer safe, but this test works.

Cottonelle flushable cleaning cloths will break down in water. Try one in a jar of water let it set for a minute or two give it a shake and it breaks into little pieces.

Just eliminate the problem entirely and put paper products in the trash can and empty daily. We use the same brand in the camper that we use at home. Don't have to worry about it!

Now I know that you have received lots of suggestions, but my wife has one more for you. Only use TP made for RV toilets. She calls it the Angel paper, because it disappears in your hands with even the slightest amount of moisture in the air! We learned our lesson years ago when we tried Charmin. That required a lot of sweat and agony to get out of the tank and hose. Sometimes using that TP is like not using any at all! So keep lots of soap and water on hand.

Pluged Toilet Black Tank

I know I added it late but did you actually dump and open all the valves and all.. Just want to make sure the tank is just not full.

I think the problem is at the Valve and your unit should flush any thing back from that area if you have lots of water pressure......Wipes should NOT be flushed down the toilet..They also will block the septic systems at any CG! Get a big Tub and push backwards from the outside and stand back!!!!!!
