Wet wipes clogged toilet
Hello, I have a 2006 Rockwood fifth wheel. The toilet is clogged somewhere underneath and is almost backed up to the valve at the bowl. There's wAter in there too so I believe it's completely clogged. I tried the dumping boiling water in the bowl trick to no avail. Anyone know a way to clear these things out? Coat hanger down the hole? I'm afraid to just start jamming stuff down there and create a bigger problem. Please help. Thank you, Gordon.

Might try a toilet wand to stick down the hole, or try using a tank flusher. I have a Valtera unit that back flushes the tank from the dump side. I have also used the wand to clean things from the toilet side. If by wet wipes you mean not just TP... Nothing but pee, poo and TP in the tank or you get a jam.
EDIT: Have you actually tried to dump and got nothing out?

They sell them at Wally World and in the camp stores sometimes.

I would make a hook out of a metal coat hanger and get that wet wipe out from the top. Once in the tank it can cause an even more expensive repair.
I would unbolt the toilet stool before I pushed it into the tank.
We too use wet ones but I have a small spring top trash can (with plastic bag) just for them. This is NOT your house toilet and "flushables" should never be flushed into an RV's holding tank.

I am just surprised that they clogged things up so fast, I guess, unless they were really wadded up.
I know I added it late but did you actually dump and open all the valves and all.. Just want to make sure the tank is just not full.

I found one of these does a bit better job than a rotating tank wand.

No you stop filling the tank before that happens... Otherwise you may get wet. It has a water shut off valve build on it along with the large gate valve for the sewer line. I run it for 2 minutes, drain, then 2 more minutes. So far no clogs and no sensor reading issues.

Yeah I have the valves open, first thing I checked. But now looking around online it seems to be I should keep them closed and then dump them when it's full. I'm new to this rv thing. Learning these lessons the hard way it seems.

I agree I have two sitting in my garage now unused.. The straight solid one and a bendy one.

yes that is correct. I will sometimes leave the gray open if we are all getting showers and baths while doing dishes but NEVER leave the black open unless you want a poo mountain forming in the tank (think concrete).

Well I probed down the hole with a coat hanger, I can get it about three feet down and it feels thick the hole way. Do you think if I get the reverse flush valve to would clear this up or do I have to dig it all out from the top? I'm getting very discouraged with my progress so far

I am not sure the Grey Wolf because I have never looked... But my RW had a shelf if you will where the pipe bent and then went into the tank. It was not a straight drop into the abyss. Could you be just hitting the shelf? Has the fluid lever changed at all up top?

No the reverse flush valve will do nothing for your problem. I bet you have a mountain forming. You need a flush stick and just keep working it till it breaks loose. I don't envy you.

If your tank is "empty" bellow I think from the top would be safest. The back flush may not remove the clog and might not be able to even reach the clog if it is up high on the pipes. (remember you do not want boil over!!)

This will not be a quick easy job so a little patience will go a long ways.
Water is your black tanks best friend so close the valve and add as much as you can and add a waste digesting treatment and let it sit 24 hours.
Drain the tank and then use one of the wands poste above with the tank valve open because it is going to take a lot of water.

Dig it out from the top. If you let it go down into the tank you may have a worse problem.
BTW, how long have you had the RV and how long have you been putting the wipes down the toilet.
When we first got ours, we clogged it up with toilet paper. Had to fish it out with a coat hanger also. We learned that we were not using enough water when flushing.

I think you are getting different answers because some are thinking 'tank' clog and some are thinking 'toilet' clog.
