The handle at the top is a "hot water heater bypass"? So when would you use that? The little handle in lower right isn't labeled so I have no idea what it might be. It is a 2012 Sandpiper 315re.

You'd bypass the water heater when you're pumping antifreeze through the water system. Is there supposed to be a picture attached to your post?

I copied the instructions for adding pictures...perhaps it will help.

Dave

Edit: the photo in your profile is too small to distinguish anything.

How to add photos to a post
  • Click reply and scroll down to bottom of text box.
  • Click "go advanced" add text to message window and then scroll down.
  • Click "Manage attachments" A separate window will pop up.
  • Click "browse" Then select the file to be uploaded. Be sure that the photo is appropriately sized. 620 x 620 pixels (or smaller) and no more than 50K. Forums software will automatically reduce the size, but smaller size photos will upload much faster. You may select several photos to upload at the same time by repeating the last step.
  • Click "Upload" After pics have loaded close the pop-up window
  • Click "submit reply" to mount the text of your message - photos will automatically appear at the bottom of your post.
How to embed an image stored on another site:
You can do this by using image tags. Upload the image to a service like imageshack and then copy the URL of the image and put that between [IMG] tags. That will work well, as long as the host site stays in business and doesn't disable your image for overuse of bandwidth etc.

You can also paste in the location of a photo stored here in a photo gallery.

To do this: Paste the url of the image into your post. Then add the following code on either side of the url (with no extra spaces):

[IMG]url here[/IMG]

The image will appear where the url was in your text.

You can also use the "paperclip" icon in the advanced menu to upload to the post directly.

My guess would be that the unlabeled valve is the freshwater tank valve. You close this valve to pump from from the winterization hose to suck from your RV antifreeze bottle. The hot water bypass does exactly that, bypasses hot water tank for winterization, so you don't fill tank with antifreeze.

Thanks. I will try it out with a bottle of water to see. The instructions are not very complete with these campers. The walk through is just a blur in my brain. Too much info too fast.

The lower right handle looks like it could be the fresh water tank drain. It looks connected to a blue water line.

Could also be a low point drain, but then you should have 2, 1 for hot and 1 for cold.

Towed it over to dealer and found out you turn it on to use the hose a little above it to the left to pull anti freeze into system. Seems like several labels were left off on the controls. I will make some for them quickly while I remember what they are for. Guess somebody was busy talking when they shoulda been working
