What to do with antifreeze?

Well, the weather going above freezing and the snow starting to melt has only accelerated my desire to get the trailer out and start prepping for the season. Since I like to be prepared (must be all those years of scouting) I'm currently reviewing the dewinterizing process.

I've found lots of info on what to do to dewinterize. (I think I'm going to print Herk's instructions from here.)

But the one thing that I haven't found is where to dispose of the RV antifreeze:

Does it go down the drain?
Can it run to ground and wash into the storm sewer?
Do I need to go to a RV dump station or leave it in my grey/black until I have sewer hookup?
Does it have to be brought to a chemical drop-off (Like a car's antifreeze needs to)?

Thanks,
Mike

This is my plan.

X3.
This is what I do. The pink stuff is non-toxic but, regardless, I don't want the old stuff on my property or down my septic so I just fill up the black tank when flushing and dump at the nearest SP CG (cost is $2) on our way out of town.

X4 just run it into the black and grey tanks and dispose of it when you flush your tanks.

It's bio-degradable and won't hurt your lawn or anything else as long as it's from the freshwater supply or your grey tank, just not your black tank although that is also bio-degradable but it does have an rather offensive odor!

From my hazmat training - the solution to pollution is dilution! - car anti freeze and camper anti freeze can go down the drain but I suggest diluting it greatly while doing it. Also please check with your city as yours may be different, but my home town said we are welcome to pour it down the drain with fresh water as well!

I wouldn't dump regular antifreeze into any kind of public water system. Getting caught "could" land you in a lot of hot water.

Antifreeze Common Wastes & Materials | US EPA

RV antifreeze is a different animal and is non-toxic. You can drink it and it'll just give you the....well, maybe not. Flush the lines into the tanks and dump as usual.

Gentleman Jack I got. Hell, I got pretty much one of everything. The benefits of passing through a duty free once a week for 8 years. But ain't no way any of that's going down a drain.

Thanks all for the input, looks like I'll be making sure the first site of the year has sewer hookups.

I assume if I drain to a bucket (per Herk's directions) this just goes back in the TT and down a drain to either the black/grey according to my whimsy?

RV antifreeze is propylene glycol. It is used in our food, and my favorite, it is used to keep cigars at the correct moisture level. Putting it in the sewer shouldn't be a problem. Since it is used in the food system we are all putting some into the sewer by default.
