Where is my water filter??? (390qsmb)

Ok, I must be missing it somewhere. Picked up our new Chapparal 390qsmb yesterday. Was told there was a water filter housing already installed behind a panel in my basement (basically directly behind the water control station). Took the panel off today. No filter to be seen. Does anyone know where it is or suppose to be???? Kind of looks like it should go here....

Did you ever figure this out? I don't believe ours has a water filter, but curious if there is one hidden somewhere...

I took our 390 back in for some warranty work and added the missing water filter to the list of things to check on. When I picked it up, the dealership told me they checked on it but found out this unit doesn't come with one. I didn't push any further.

You're better off without one internally installed. Many of us have bypassed the internal filters due to cracking and leaking concerns.

Use an external one.

It appears as though you could install a whole house filter in place of that horizontal blue pipe in your picture, but your probably better off using an external one as "rockfordroo" suggested.

The campco external filter with flex hose is under $16 at Walmart and replacement cartridges are about $18 a pair.

When using city water hook it up at the trailer inlet. when filling a fresh water tank, hook it up at the end of your hose just prior to filling your tank.

The external filter is nice for those who have their filters installed inside under a cabinet or such, but if you have an outside wet/control station, any leaks or such will just drain out. I personally have never had one leak, crack, or unscrew by itself.

Also I just read several other threads where people had clogged faucets and/or toilets due to sand, gravel etc.

Don't take the filter question too lightly.
