Where is this Water Coming From? (Photo underneath Grey Wolf Trailer)
I spent the weekend at a private campground hooked up to city water. I was parked at the campground office to check out when I noticed this stream of water from a pipe underneath the trailer (Grey Wolf 25RL). The trailer was parked at an angle with the "utility" side of the trailer downhill, and the "awning" side of the trailer positioned higher. This picture is taken from the rear axle looking forward.
Is this pipe supposed to have a fitting on the end? Until today, I thought this was a drain for condensation from the refrigerator (the pipe exits the underbelly below the refrigerator). But, this pipe released several gallons before it stopped. Where was this water coming from, and why? I've had the trailer for 3 months and have not seen this before.
Thanks for reading, and for your answers!

That is the overflow for your fresh water tank. Someone else will have to help with why it overflowed when you were hooked up to city water.

Water tank overflow?? The non return valve on your water pump may be leaking allowing city water to backfill your water tank.

Check if your fresh water tank is full. If it is, then most likely it is filling because check valve in water pump is not sealing properly.

If you want to fix this fast instead of leaving it at your dealership all winter (unless you have some other warranty issues you also need resolved), then a $15 part from Camping World or other RV parts store will get you fixed better than the dealership will!
Get this check valve and installs with no tools in 5 minutes or less without having to replace the water pump.
And will probably be a much better and longer lasting fix than a repair kit for the water pump, which is what the dealership will do under warranty.

Or you can turn off city water, turn on pump, run faucets. Turn off pump.
This could reset your check valve.

The very first thing I would do is remove the check valve and inspect it. In the past it has happened to me at least twice that a piece of plastic shavings or teflon tape has found its way into thee check valve and prevented it from seating. They were easy fixes so hopefully the same for you.

I had this problem with my camper and I have two suggestions.
1. Turn off City water and use your onboard water pump several times. Sometimes the valve gets stuck and using it several time may unstick it.
2. Check you pressure regulator on the incoming city water to be sure that it is working properly. I had a regulator go bad on me and it allow too much water pressure and this forced water past the valve in your onboard pump. Or if you do not have a water pressure regulator then you need to buy one as each CG has different water pressure going to the campers.
Hope this helps.

Same thing on an 18MT - 2020
I am going to crawl under the trailer today to see if I can figure this out. I saw he same behavior recently and didn't know what it was. I have never seen this pipe before until is started unloading water, I can't find where anything else triggers the water to come out like flushing, connecting to city lines or filling the fresh tank, it just randomly starts dropping water.

My overflow pipe was siphoning off my water. It took me a while to figure out why my FW tank was emptying so fast. I put a valve on the end of it to stop to siphoning when I drive. I just make sure I open it when filling the tank or am on city water.
