Which Dometic Toilet?

We have a 2013 SS3170DS. On our current trip I have noticed after flushing the water continues to trickle from the ports around the top of the rim, sometimes fairly strong, sometimes faint. Either way the pressure minimizes to just a slow trickle after a few minutes, but continues to run, ever so slowly from one or two ports on the rear of the rim. It hasn't presented an overflow issue yet, and we turn off the house water anytime we leave the rig. We do have a pressure regulator on our water line.

Any ideas of the problem and a solution? Can anyone tell me which Dometic I have for this model or how to tell?

I have just found online that the "trickle" is normal. Still will keep an eye on things.

I have just found online that the "trickle" is normal. Still will keep an eye on things.

If you can get a camera or a phone there should be a small white sticker down towards the base on the right side. It will have the model number on it. Snap a pic of it.

My Dometic 310 trickles a bit after flushing and has done so from new.
I believe the idea is to always have a small amount of water in the bowl to help with the seal.

Here's the verbiage directly from the Dometic installation/user's manual.
Pay attention to the very last line....

7.2 Flush toilet
To flush, press pedal down until it contacts the floor. Release pedal after complete flush.
• When flushing liquids, press the pedal for 1-2 seconds.
• When flushing solids, press pedal until contents are rinsed from bowl.

Flushing longer than necessary will cause holding tank to fill too quickly.

A small amount of water will collect in the bowl after a flush to create an airtight seal.

Trickle for how long? Does it ever stop? Mine does...

Let's see...thanks on the model location, I'll check. The DW says it always trickled a bit, and yes it does stop, but not consistantly, maybe 2" in bowl, sometimes more. Reported that may run for up to 20 min, I'll email Dometic and see what they say.

There should be a slight trickle, maybe 1 or 2 seconds, but it should stop after that.
I had a somewhat similar issue with mine last year. When I would take my foot off the pedal it would be slow to close. It did this since new and I thought it was a feature to put more water in the bowl. I was very wrong. What happened was the pedal was not fully seated in base of the toilet. This caused the locking tabs to bind in the hole and eventually stopped the pedal from closing completely. We were, and still are, not ones to shut off the water all the time so one day we returned home to a flooded motor home. the fix was simple, just smack the pedal solidly into the hole.
We had to replace our pedal but haven't had any more problems, with that anyway.

The peddle and drain cover snaps closed just fine, you wouldn't want a finger there or anything else. ;-) We always turn off house water when leaving the rig.
If I can get an answer from Dometic I'll post their recommendation and reply.

I emailed Dometic and this was their reply...

The water valve can trickle into the bowl for up to 20 minutes after a flush and that is normal, you will see that information referenced in your toilet Owner's Manual. *

Well, my DW has solved the toilet filling problem. As I wrote earlier my Dometic 310 was filling much higher than what I had seen as normal, my concern was a potential flooding issue.
We are currently camping with our daughter, son-in-law and our 4 year old grand daughter. My DW caught her filling the bowl with the foot pedal, she has been going into the bathroom on her own from time to time and playing with the pedal, hence, filling the bowl the process. When I would check the fill rate and the stoppage of the post flush trickle, everything was normal. Time to time checking the bowl I would find it almost to the rim...concern.
The little culprit confessed after being caught in act...40 lashes or hugs. ;-)
