White Plumbers Caulk on FW tank-Cloudy Water??

Hey guys, maybe someone here has seen this before.

I have a brand new RG3210 and I was crawling around underneath seeing how everything was tied together. I noticed this white sealant or caulk that was used on the fresh water tank fittings. The stuff is not hard and dry, but wet and can be wiped off with a finger. It has the consistancy of thick toothpaste. Upon using the tank for the first time, I did notice a slight cloudiness to the water and I'm afraid it has gotten into the tank. I could probably clean it all off and flush the tank really well, might get rid of it all, but I would like to know if anyone else experienced it and if so, wht they did about it. Here are a couple of pics I took with my phone.

That white stuff is the treads sealer that they uses on the fittings. They are all like that. I am sure that this sealer did not go inside your tank. Just rinse and flush your tank with a solution of chlorine ( small amount) and everything should be right. It is a good idea to put a special compound on the screws for the level indicators to prevent corrosion on these screws.

X2 - They are supposed to leave the first thread or two bare, plus the excess is squished out as the fitting is threaded in.

What kind of compound do you use on the sensor screws? Mine are already corroded.

I really doubt that plumbers thread sealer would make
the water cloudy as it won't mix with water.
You do need to flush and sanitize your new water system
and again at the beginning of each season is
also recommended.

Good Luck!

backin 15: I use ultra seal made by Grote. It is a special grease that you put on the electrical connections to prevent corrosion. If you live in Canada you can get it at Princess auto. In the States I dont know where they sell it. Try Pep boys? or Auto zone
