Winterizing and Black tank flush

I have searched for a while on here but came up empty. So I’ll have to ask. I winterized today and just wondering if there is anything I need to do to the black tank flush. Trailer is a Gray Wolf 26DBH. Thanks in advance.

I winterize my Crusader using my outside shower connection. I connect it to the city water connection and pump antifreeze through everything but the water heater. When done I connect there shower hose to the black water flush and run antifreeze through that also.

I blew the line out with air. No antifreeze in that line.

I never do anything to my black flush probably because I never thought of it. Maybe I am just lucky, I never had an issue and the winters here are brutal.

I guess blowing out is another leg of protection, but I don't use air at all and I don't put anti in either, Why? If it's higher then the head and inlet there is no water in the line period. The valve itself doesn't hold water, never had a problem yet. But if I did blow my lines, I guess it wouldn't hurt being you have everything there already, would break a compressor out just to do that NO.

I didn’t realize that the valve didn’t hold any water. I may just be overly cautious.

Think of it as a check valve

Hold on now, some systems use a rotating nozzle others use a spray head, the supply line coming to these is "Random" at best in loops and curves! Water can be trapped around the Nozzle attachment to Tank area! Your choice to gamble with your unit for a Little cost of A/F,vs cost to repair! Youroo!! PS next Spring your Buddy will say "Damn yours must be Plumbed Different than Mine"!

Getting paranoid in our old age? Don't burn all my firewood in that heated barn that you keep Molly in for the winter. [emoji120] [emoji15] [emoji482]

Who has a easy way of adding AF, to your black flush line, please don't tell me to take the shower hose apart, not all trailers have outdoor showers. It might help someone here, not to high jack the thread but the question has been asked what to do.

The black tank flush line is a line that goes from inlet on side of coach to an outlet inside black tank. It may have a loop or curve in the line that holds water. Simply Blow air through line to clear out any standing water. IMHO you do not need to try to get antifreeze in that line.

The black tank flush is open on both ends which allow all water to drain out either into the black tank or onto the ground. The check valve/vacuum breaker doesn’t hold or trap any water.
