Winterizing Bypass Kit

I bought one of the camco winterizing kits so I could quit disconnecting the freshwater line and hooking up a suction hose. My problem is the fresh water fitting that goes into the pump doesn't go tight to the brass valve included in the kit. Is this common and is there an easy fix?

Is this the kit? Are you missing the bushing reducing from the pump? The grey one in the middle?

I have the gray coupler in the middle and the brass valve. It looks like there is an adaptor between the coupler and the valve that I don't have. I'm having trouble with the connection of my water tank line to the left side of the valve as pictured. What happens is it never gets tight and I can turn the hose even though it's screwed on as tight as it'll go. The threads seem to be the same as it screws on fine.

When I went to screw the hose from the FW tank onto the brass valve, I noticed a rubber washer/o-ring type thing had fallen out of the hose. I found it, re-installed it and everything went great, but I can imagine if it was left out the hose fitting would screw tight but the hose wouldn't seal and therefore would be loose. Could be that?

This is all low pressure stuff. If you don't want to fool with Camco, take the fittings to Depot or Lowes. Ask the pipefitter to help you match up proper thread, sounds like machine threads vs tapered pipe threads. Even if you have to use a short piece of vinyl with hose clamps you'll get up and running! Hope it works for you!
