Winterizing question

This has probably been asked and answered before, but dammed if I can find it, so here goes:

Winterized the Salem myself for the first time yesterday. First, I did the compressed air through the city water inlet to blow most of the water out of the lines. Opened all faucets, showers, and toilet, one at a time, and opened the low point drains. Worked great. Then, I turned the winterizing valve on the water pump, removed the anode rod, pumped a little antifreeze into the water heater, then turned the water heater bypass valve, and ran antifreeze through the rest of the system, all faucets, showers, and toilet again, one at a time. Left anode rod out.

Now, my question: there's got to be a little section of plumbing between the city water inlet and some manifold? that both the city water inlet and the water pump outlet go into before going to the rest of the plumbing system, yes? Should I be worried about pumping antifreeze into that little section of plumbing, or did the compressed air do a sufficient job? I'd hate to come this far and have one section freeze on me. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

As there's a check valve at the city water connection, there may be a air lock between the manifold and the city water connection when you pumped the AF with the pump. As it's air, I wouldn't worry about it though I've heard of people removing the strainer on the city water connection and pushing in on the check valve to allow AF to flow out.

No need to put the pink stuff thru the water heater. It's a waste of $$. Sounds like you have all else nailed 100%.
