We live in Colorado and it also gets very cold here. I have never filled all my lines with antifreeze because a compressor is much simpler for me. After draining everything per Bama Rambler above and blowing out the lines, I put a cup or so of antifreeze in each drain trap (kitchen and bath sinks and shower) and on top of the toilet flapper. I have never had a freeze problem doing it this way and have also never had to smell or taste antifreeze the next time I use the trailer.

However, I do it this way mainly because we take several RV trips a year during winter and spring, so I have to winterize it multiple times each year. That many winterizations a year could get pretty expensive if I did it only with antifreeze.

It is quite aggravating that Forest River does not have specific "blueprints" or "guides" to give new owners exact locations of items such as the water bypass valve. I don't get it.???

You mean like having the service technician at a Flagstaff RV dealer just laugh when I asked him if he had a factory electrical circuit diagram for the Flagstaff twin of my trailer? He said Forest River has never given him a circuit diagram for any RV and suspected that even the factory doesn't have them. Curious! So I called the factory service tech and he said "No, every trailer is different because different options are on it. So how could we afford to prepare a circuit diagram for each one?"

Apparently the factory has no idea which wires and fuses are put where and really don't care to know!

Actually it's pretty much the norm, in the RV industry, not just FR.
Generic owners manuals are the industry standard now.

What did your PDI technician tell you when you asked him/her for the location of your bypass valve?
