12 volt issues

Installed new battery in April. It went bad on me. Got a new one but still have issue when not hooked up to 110v power, I have no interior lights. Checked ALL fuses and they are good. Concerned it may be converter. Any ideas??

The converter is what powers the lights WHEN connected to 120 volt AC (shore power).

The battery is what powers the lights when NOT connected to 120 volt AC.

If you don't have lights when not connected to shore power, but do when you are connected........... then you are not getting power to/from the battery.

Suggestions to check: a battery disconnect switch, a fuse inline near the battery. and the 12 volt dc (aka resettable fuse) if equipped.

Also something else to note, your converter recharges your battery. If it cannot get power to the battery, your battery will not be recharged unless you connect it to a battery charger.

This thread may help you find the 12 volt DC circuit breaker (aka resettable fuse)

I like an easy fix too!!

I researched the whole binder they gave us with the camper and there is no mention of these resettable switches. I am now looking to install a battery disconnect switch for storage purposes since mine does not have one already installed. Any suggestions?
Thanks again!!!

Look at Marine battery switches for options. Many people use a simple switch with a knob that fits on the negative terminal and disconnects all power with a twist of the knob.

This was very helpful. The Owners manual for my 2021 Shasta has no mention of a resettable circuit breaker. Seems like it should.

Generally RV owners manuals have no model-specific nor brand-specific information. Just basic RV systems information. This has been the RV Industry standard for years.

Before you go to the trouble of adding switch. Double check under the propane tanks on the frame rail underside. Many are located there.
