12 Volt Problem
Last weekend I went to my Roo 23IKSS in storage to take care a few thing. The battery has been in my basement on a trickle charger all winter and I brought it with me to extend the slides. I hooked up the battery and nothing happened when I tried the slides or the power jack. The first thought that the battery was dead.
I was in a bit of a hurry so I tried hooking the umbilical cord from the TV to the trailer and both slides, lights and power jack worked. I did what I needed to do in the trailer and went home and tested the battery which tested fine.
So now I am wondering, did I have the battery kill switch engaged and would the power still get to the trailer from the TV if this was the case or do I have another problem that is preventing power from getting to the camper from the battery. The battery was connected correctly. I will need to get back out there time permitting to do more forensics. I have a trip April first that I need to get ready for.

If you have a battery shut off, That would be the first place I would check. That switch is normally directly between the battery any other wiring on the trailer. Even with shut off in off position, the 12V aux from the TV would power the jack and slide. If the switch is on and you still have the problem, it could be a bad battery. Batteries can test good ( vai voltage check) but have the voltage drop substantially as soon as they are under load and fail to operate the slide etc. You can have this checked at most auto parts store.

I think you figured it out. Had the battery disengaged.

I think so, I wasn't sure if the power from the TV bypassed the switch or not. Apparently it does!

I've seen that happen a lot here recently. Folks get to new camper and/or one that has been in storage for a while, and they forget about the little things.

" normally" the landing gear and slide power is direct to battery.
Battery cut off wouldn't matter.
Normally the battery gets hooked backwards!

I thought the power jack bypassed by the cut off switch as well but apparently that is not the case.

Test Battery
Harbor frt has an inexpensive ($14 with a coupon?) battery load tester that is good enough to test fry your battery sets. Loads them down to 100 amps with an ammeter, and volts. Helps weed out batteries that seem to test OK until you load them down.

My power jack works regardless of position of shut off switch but my slide needs the shut off switch on to work. There is about 40 ma drain on my battery even when the switch is off and everything in the trailer is off.
