12V Battery Charger Hook Up

Do I need to connect my battery maintainer charger directly to the battery or can i connect it anywhere in the system as long as the wire is able to carry the 10 amps??

I'd connect straight to the battery.

You can wire it up anywhere in the system and it will charge your battery --- as long as it's wired correctly.

The closer to the battery the better. Voltage drop is a killer in battery charging systems. I would connect directly to the battery. That is the only way the charger will provide the correct voltage to the battery during the charging sequence.
