I just received this and it does what it is supposed to. If I were making cables professionally, I would most certainly invest in a decent crimper.

I just solder and heat shrink. Lasts at least 40+years!

I've always crimped, soldered and shrink wrapped heavy cable and much lighter wiring also.

For $40 it works great for the home handyman. I don't think it would hold up to daily use.

This one works well and at $40 it's worth it. Probably not designed for making your living with it but does a very nice job of crimping.

I went to a car stereo install place. They had a huge tool and charged me very little for crimping.

Forget crimping, solder. Some auto parts stores may have the terminals and the matching solder pellets.

Personally I like the Greenlee Gator 18v crimp tool. Very pricey for a diy. And I also like penetrox electrical joint compound
