2015 FR3 30DS Info needed

In the rear/drivers side basement compartment is what I believe to be an electrical cable to connect to shore power. There is also a plug recepticle on the rear wall of that same storage compartment. What is the purpose of that recepticle? I'm not sure that was covered in my PDI, or I just missed it.

You must plug your shore cable in to that plug to operate your generator.
