Ok I gave a realy newbie question, thats been answered before.
Our TT has 30 amp service, my question is can I plug into a 50 amp service, with the proper adapter? Is there.any advantage to doing
Also is there one brand of surge protector, you folks would recommend?
You will be ok plugging in your 30 amp rig in to a 50 amp plug camco has a 30 amp female to 50 amp male dog bone you still won't be able to pull more than 30 amps
I carry a 30 to 50 adapter, and use it occasionally.
1) When we pull into a parking spot, on occasion the 30 amp receptical on the pedestal is lose and doesn't seem to make a good connection. If there is a 50 amp receptical available, I then use my adapter and plug into to 50 instead.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
Back when I had a 30 amp TT I found the the 50 amp receptacles at campgrounds were in better shape than the 30 amp. I think that is because the 30 amps are used and abused more than the 50s.

You will be absolutely 'aok' with the proper adapter. The adapter will terminate the 2nd leg (hot wire) and the breakers in your RV do the rest - no need for concern.
