30 Amp Cord - Blue Lights Going, Going, GONE!

The last two connections, the blue light on the cover plate for my 30 amp input stopped working. First time, the blue light on the male end of the cord was still working, as was the all power in the TT (at least battery strength never dropped over 3.5 days camping with heat, lights, slides, radio and TV,etc). But this time, plugging in at home, no blue light at either end, and only the red light at male end. I know there is power from the house, and there was full green lights on my Surge Protector at the campground post. What gives? Is my cord likely shot? Could it be the input plug on the trailer? Appreciate any and all help!

Our blue light went out on one end of the plug and our dealer told us it could just be a burnt out bulb.

If the red light is on then polarity is reversed.
30 AMP 125V HEAVY DUTY RV CORDSET W/FAULTSMART LED - 36FT TITANIUM - FURRION
I replaced my cord once via warranty and the led / diode in cap on camper myself. Since I hard wired a surge protector with delayed start I havnt had a problem since.

They're just a gimmick and don't offer anything in the way of active protection. Get a real power management system: Surge Guard or Progressive, portable or hard-wired. Mine went out over a year ago and with my portable 30V Surge Guard I really don't care.

My blue light went out on the first trip. The Company replaced the cord and power hookup at the trailer it worked for two trips. Now I don't care I just use a voltmeter or look at the microwave. If the light on the control panel is lit I have voltage. Bam that's it.

Mine went belly up after a month. No big deal. Not worth the effort to replace. Male end still working tho. Just use as is. Later RJD

Betcha the engineer who decided to add a few pennies of parts in such a slipshod way got a bad review after all those warranty replacements of otherwise-still-perfectly-good cords started coming in. Just like the Dometic engineer who thought blue interior fridge lights would be a neat idea - until they started having to send out hundreds (thousands?) of white free replacements to angry customers.

Avoid aggravation, go to the Progressive RV site. First thing I do is plug the Progressive unit in the power supply if OK, then plug my TT in it. If you suspect the extension cord - plug the extension in the post then the Progressive unit, if there is a missing ground or reversed polarity you'll know right away.
