30 amp extension??

I have been to a few campsites recently where my power cord wasn't long enough to allow me to pull all the way in. I Need about 10 more feet.
My Coachmen has a fixed mounted cord that I pull out of rear of unit and plug in.
Is it OK to buy a 10 foot extension and add it when needed or will it reduce my power??

I use a 25ft ext. when needed and don't notice drop, 10ft go for it!

Depends on the lenght and gauge of the main power cord, and the gauge of the 10 foot extension.

I had a TT (not a FR product) that had the power cord in the middle of the trailer. The 25 ft fixed cord was never long enough, so I always kept a 25ft extension attached to the trailer. Never had a problem.

My 303 has the cord smack dab in the middle of the back so I have had to use my 10' extension several times and never had a problem!

To Hook my trailer up in our yard and be able to turn AC on I have to have 2 30 amp extensions got them at Wal Mart $36

I purchased a 30 amp extension cord from Lowes. Its a regular cord so you will need to buy the plug adapters for the end. No problems so far.

Your 30 amp extension cord must have 10 AWG (gauge) conductors and a ground conductor. Any 30 amp extension cord that you buy should be made that way, but check to be sure. It should be imprinted on the jacket.

I have a 25 FT and a 50 FT 30 amp extensions. Depending on the site I have both of these and the 30 FT that came with the trailer. Only issue I have had was a bad park power plug burnt the extension end. The park refunded my camping fees to cover replacement.

From what I've heard, having to go up to 100 feet is normal at Canadian Provicial Parks.

This past weekend my power cord wasn't long enough either. Luckily I had a 30 to 50 amp dogbone and the RV park maintenance guy let me borrow a 50 amp extension and I plugged right into the 50 amp socket. No problems at all.
