Cool 30 amp fuse to slide out keeps blowing

Hi, we have a 35' Surveyor with 2 slide outs. The 30 amp fuse keeps blowing on the front slide out. We have to keep replacing it or use the rear slide out fuse to open front one. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem? I assume its a short somewhere!

Does it move at all before blowing the fuse?
If not can you manually crank it out ?

You may want to throw the fuses in the trash and install auto resetting circuit breakers of the same amperage.

It may be blowing the fuse as it's binding somewhere. Try looking under/around the slide when it's out and look rubs, gouges, etc. You may need a trip to the dealer to correct if it's binding.

Hopefully you can get it sorted out without having to change your 'forum' name.

If it works okay with the rear slideout fuse - possibly the replacement fuse is the wrong size/type? E.g., regular vs slow blow?

I will have my husband look under for signs of binding.
I'm trying to remember if it blows only when on battery power
Or if it does it when hooked to electric. I'll get back with that info.

The front and rear fuses are same, 30 amp. Once it blew the rear fuse when
We tried to use it. That time it was hooked to the truck not electric.

Circuit breakers are good idea but still want to know why it's blowing fuses! Until then, I guess we'll buy stock in Buse (sp?) fuses!!!

Camping this weekend so i'll let you know how it goes and what we find.
Thanks!
Linda
