30 amp shore power not charging batteries
On my 2 month eclipse trip and the batteries will not charge from 30 amp shore power or the generator. The batteries only charge from driving. I have a new (in February 2017) Forrester 2501TS. I only took two brief trips before this and this was always a problem. Batteries test fine with a meter after driving, but never charge unless the engine is running.
Thanks for any help. Sorry if I missed a prior thread.

Check the fuses on your converter. If you by mistake connected bats. wrong easy to blow fuses. Other could be a bad converter. Those fuses should be bigger then the others and they maybe 40 amp.

Also cheapest to fix.

The circuit breaker isn't tripped, but I didn't locate any 40 amp fuses just three 25s. Are there other fuses and if so where?
Thanks to all of you for helping.

Not sure where yours are, but 25A is too small for the converter to battery circuit. Most likely 30-40A ( orange or brown)

Ditto on checking fuses. I popped mine when in hooked my battery up wrong. Mine are 40 amp. Haven't had any trouble since.

My reversed batt connection fuses are just to the left of the main row of fuses and near the bottom. Set off to the side and somewhat concealed by a warning label.

My 40 amp fuses are on the converter itself not with the other fuses or breakers.

Mine are in the fuse box but somewhat hidden in the left of the box. There are 2 40 amp fuses.

I can't post a picture because we are not home but his 2017 will have a Progressive Industries Converter and I believe it has 3 separate fuses at the bottom right of the panel.

When plugged in to shore power...check with voltmeter at converter output...you should see between 13.2V and 14.5 Volts if it is working..if not....then the fuses ON the converter or in the AC line (breaker) need to be checked and replaced as needed OR the whole converter needs replacement if that does not work.
If you DO have 13.2V+ at the output of the converter then the problem is downstream in the wiring and/or in line fuses at the battery.

After speaking with Dennis, the very helpful technitan at Progressive Dynamics, I was able to determine that the thermal breaker in the battery compartment has a reset switch. Once that breaker was reset the problem was solved.
The thermal breaker is a black box at the left rear of the compartment (if you're looking in the battery compartment standing outside the coach). You can barely see the reset under the breaker and have to remove the left battery to reset it. I had the help of an electrician friend to slip some channel locks in to click the reset while tilting the battery forward, so I didn't have to pull the battery, but for safety you may not want to try that.
Through Dennis I also found out that my PD4560 converter on my 2501TS Forester has only three 25 amp fuses; no 40 amp fuses.
Thanks to everyone.
For the eclipsophiles out there, only 11 more days!
