Yes- they do help out a lot. I will now be carrying a spare one as the 111 from last Thursday cause my hard start to go boom! Luckily I was able to find one in town after work before we left for the weekend. After all, they are only $12.

No everything needs to be changed, convertor, wiring, breaker box and more. It is not a simple thing, but yes it can be done but always be safe about the wiring if you do it.

P.S> if the breaker dose not fix the problem, you did not say where you were saying so since it is hot , you will not be the only one running their a/c might also be low voltage??
