50 amp cord
Our new Wildcat344QB came with a 25' 50 amp cord to start with. Now with the experiences I have had with our old travel trailer I know that will not be long enough. So with the vast bank of knowledge from the people on this forum, I figured I would ask...
Just I was wondering what people have done for cord length. Have you bought a new longer 50 amp cord or just bought another cord to act as an extension? Either way where have you purchased these from local dealer, online, etc?

Is your cord hardwired in or a twist lock plug?
My trailer came with a hardwired 30 foot cord, bought a 25 foot extension just in case.

Ours is not hard wired, but the twist lock variety.
Since it wasn't hard wired that is why I was considering buying a longer (50 foot) cord vs just buying a 25 foot cord to use as an extension.
With the price not cheap, I am asking what you all do.

For now I kept the 35' 30A extension cord I had for my old TT. I'll just manage my power when I need to use it.

On the 50' cord, one thing that amazed me is how heavy my 35' 50A cord is. A 50' one would be irritating and I'm no lightweight.

I'm going to go that route also, as I just got the 5th wheel. At least until I feel the need to spend $100+ for a 30ft 50amp cord.

I think most of the time you will be using your 25 ft cord. A 50 ft will be heavy to manage. I would buy another 25 ft extension instead giving you a total of 50 ft when required. That is what I have and so far never had to use the extra extension in 3 years.

I bought it at Canadian Tire. You should be able to buy at WalMart for much cheaper.

Agreed on how heavy it was.
So since we are on the subject...anyone have creative/interesting/helpful ways to organize and store their cord? Especially the 50 amp cord.

I also bought my 50 amp 30' extension cord from Amazon. You may also want to by a 50 amp to 30 amp dog bone or adapter for the parks that don't offer 50 amp service yet. We go to a few State and private campgrounds that only offer 30 amp service and the electrical hook up is farther away where you will need the extension. I have used my extension alot.
