50 Amp surge protector at a 30 Amp site.

This is probably a dumb question but.... My 5er is 50 amp, if I buy a 50 amp surge protector and stay at a 30 amp site, can I use the surge protector? Plugged into the pigtail?

It can be adapted all the way down to a 15amp duplex plug and be fine.
Albeit the further down you adapt the less you can use at the same time.

50 amp everything
30 amp one a/c and various other items.
15amp just the basics.
