6 Volt Battery Box?
I am in the process of going from 1 12 volt batt to 2 GC2 6volt batts. I have searched hi and low online for a box to fit my new batteries. My new batteries (i bought from Sams Club) each measure 10.5" wide X 14.6" long X 11.5" high. I'm starting to think I bought the wrong batteries. Any suggestions? I have searched: this site, Amazon, etrailer, and NOCO. What are y'all using? I am open to 1 or 2 boxes.
Thanks.

I built my own from plywood, painted inside with chemical resistant paint Home Depot. Drilled holes with hole saws for cables and ventilation and secured to floor with screws. PS the floor of the box at the front is longer than the sides to enable placing screws in front on the outside and also to move box around with batteries inside.
Also drilled hole in bottom for air to get in and placed batteries on 1/2 inch strips so as not to block the hole with the batteries. My are placed in my front storage compartment so the bottom hole goes directly to the outside. The upper vent hole hose is sump pump drain hose which I tied into the existing battery vent hose. It works for me!

I got this at Batteries+Bulbs. Not cheap, but we'll made.
Two things:
-the lid is very secure
-the notches for the wires to pass through actually work.

This battery box is the one I have. Very rugged, excellent quality.

Those measurements are NOT for a single GC2 which should be 10.25x7.125 x 10.875" (LWH) or close to that... Could you have given us measurements for the pair instead of one?

I bought four 6v boxes from Walmart. Each one fits one battery. I also toyed around with using some Rubbermaid bins since mine are located in the front bay vs outdoors. Found some that were pretty close but went with the individual route. Good luck.

I have the Torklift Power Armor box. It is ventilated with a locking cover. I have (2) Trojan T-105s on one side and my charge controller, battery monitor, inverter, and buss bars on the other side. https://www.torklift.com/rv/powerarmor

NOCO Battery Boxes
Get NOCO 6v Battery boxes. Turn the so the handles are on opposite ends and they will probably fit in the same space as 24 size 12 volt batteries. There website has exact meaasurements.

I just used regular group 27 boxes with straps. Be sure you make your cables long enough to allow the lids to fit onto the top. Don't forget to incorporate venting into the battery area to prevent hydrogen buildup. Use proper gauge battery cable, (6 gauge I think). You'll love how long you can go on the golf carts.

That does not sound like the dimensions of any GC2 I have seen. Boxes for GC2 batteries are the same footprint as the box for a Group 24 12v only taller and are readily available all over?

opps, I'm an idiot.
Thanks for all the replys. As Cam and others have figured out, my measurements were for the 2 batteries, not each. I had drawn a box with the measurements on a sticky note that I had labeled "batt size" later when I went surfing for a box, I assumed I had measured just the 1 battery and not both. I have ordered the NOCO box that many of you are using. Thanks again for the help.
Don.

Good choice, pricier than others, but very sturdy/well built and worth the extra dollars.
