But I think I'd rather plug it together, and occasionally give it a shot of contact cleaner.

The friction of the socket connectors should help keep the corrosion down, as well.

Or the socket with dielectric.

Either way, I'm thinking a cheap socket is a good solution.

I completely agree with these points, ... got a bracket($2.50) and a "sacrificial" socket($5.00) from Amazon, ... IMO, $7.50 ain't bad for another useful "gadget" like this, .... happy trailering, .....

We got a small trash can that fits over our tongue jack. I put hooks inside of it to hold the connector, safety chains and break away. Keeps everything under cover and off the ground. 8 years, two trailers and never an issue.

Our Coachmen RKS has a hole between the two propane tanks for the connector. It goes in through a slotted opening for the ears, give it a twist and it is held in place. Tank covers keep it happy.

I've had one of these for about a year and I don't see any corrosion (but it is southern California...)

I got the "Plug Guard" from Amzon when we had our TT. Now I use it on my enclosed utility trailer
