AC Circuit Breaker Trips

When running the AC off the generator while driving, the circuit breaker on the AC trips. No problem when stationary, only while moving. Any thoughts?

Can you post the model of the RV, the Generator, and the Air Conditioner?

It will help in diagnosing the problem.

Since you only have the problem when moving, have you checked the wiring in the panel, to the A/C and in the genny? I'd start by doing that. Since you didn't say that it happened on shore power, it's probably between the genny, the transfer switch, and the power panel.

Are there any other "load" appliances on such as fridge or water heater? If yes, turn them off or switch them to LPG.

Probably vibration. Breakers use electromagnetic force to trip the switch. If the breaker is weak, adding vibration to the electromagnetic force could exceed the force required to trip it.

Can you switch it with another breaker and see if it still trips?

When you change power source from shore to generator (or generator to shore), are you turning off the A/C before you change sources, and leaving it off for a few minutes after changing?

I used to just start the generator and then disconnect shore power leaving the A/C on the whole time. I was throwing breakers all day long. After I started turning off A/C before transitioning power sources I haven't had a single instance.

I just completed a 4300 mile trip in my 2016 Georgetown 270S, with Cummins Onan RV QG 5500 genset and had the same problem once I got south with hot weather. A common denominator is rough, very bumpy roads - one (of 2) of my generator (not the ones in the rv itself) circuit breakers tripped 3 different times. Cummins Onan support tells me that there is probably a loose connection somewhere so I'll look around and if I can't find anything that appears to be loose, I must (heaven forbid) take it back to the dealer to check and (hopefully) tighten anything and everything.
