I just purchased a 2009 rockwood pop up. When I plug in the electric does it automatically turn it from the battery to electric or is there a switch somewhere?

What happens is when you plug into 120 volt AC, then the converter should 'automatically' provide power to the DC items, instead of the battery. The converter will also recharge the battery.

However, when you are not plugged into a form of 120 volt AC power, then certain things do not work.....like any electrical outlet, television, microwave, or air conditioner.

Hold on and I will add a second post with good links that explains your electrical system to you in more detail.
