Adding solar panel to existing GoPower installed system.

Has anyone added an additional solar panel with MC4 connectors to the factory installed SAE "solar on the side" port. I've heard there is a polarity issue with the different platforms. I have a GeoPro with the factory installed panel on the roof.

My suggestion...don't bother with that side port and just wire up something new. You will already have to upgrade the wires between the connector and the batteries anyway since they are too small unless all you are doing is a 100W panel. BTW, a 100W panel will likely only be giving you around 20AH per day in the summer so size your solar accordingly.

Thanks for the reply babock. I was considering adding another 100w panel and adding a 100ah agm battery. I currently have a 100w panel and a 75ah Optima blue top. Just curious if anyone has done something like that successfully just plugging the extra panel into the solar port. My solar controller is the GoPower 30 amp. My reasoning for wanting to use the port is so I can move that panel around for full sun.
