Alarm sounding when too many lights on

Just to jump in. I am having an issue sometimes at night as well. My alarm sounds when too many interior lights are on. I go back and toggle the good breakers (not flipped) then it goes away. I am plugged in full time but not sure about the battery and it connections.

Is there a photo or diagram i can check somewhere to see. We just plugged in and said yep - we have power. :/

Which alarm? The Propane detector?

A low battery or low CONVERTER output can cause and the propane detector to alarm.

I also want to know about the tripped circuit breaker. Is it always the same one? Does it feed your CONVERTER?

Yes, the propane detector is chirping. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the battery. Had a couple power outages last couple nights and lots of rain.
Parents had a 330(?) Rv plug installed that we are connected to full time. We have no propane hooked up ~too hot to use the stove inside.
It came on most the night last night. Had to keep getting up. It would switch off for a few if we turned on the ac or an interior light then chirping would start again. I finally had to shut off breakers last night to get the kids to sleep.
Lights have been real low the last week. Dimming and flickering. Felt like we needed a morse code refresher last night and maybe it was trying to tell us something.

Getting hot and turned on the breakers, tried the ac. Now the ac wont turn on. Have a portable ac plugged in but chirping still continues. We got the place used with battery is it just the battery?
How do i see if the battery is getting any juice or charging from our hookup? Help. Sound is driving me nuts

I hope you do not mean 220 volt RV plug.

Our campers are 110 volt; not 220 (even though the plug dies look like a dryer plug). If they wired 220 volts to your camper you have more problems than a chirping propane detector.

Oops 110 i guess. We had a seperate breaker box installed that runs the motorhome.

Update - ac kicked on. Still intermittent cherping and the fridge freezer is not working.
Lost internet ( not my day) using neighbors. Will check in in a bit. Charging the battery we use for the macerator pump and wilk switch it out with the other. Date says 5/10 so average for in the Az heat. Hoping its just shot.

Sounds like you are not plugged into a 30 amp (or 50 amp) box, or the box is wired wrong.
Shouldn't lose both sides of your electricity, AC and DC when plugged into shore power.

The a/c won't run if you have a low battery or low output from the converter.

It has a 12 volt circuit board in it, and needs a strong 12 volts to run. Sounds like it is time for a battery or possibly a new converter.

Voltage drop------

I just experienced the same problem, found out the 12V battery charger on the power supply is not working right. We took a lighting surge in a RV park on the way back from Niagara Falls Rally. I have a new 55 AMP four stage converter on the way. My present converter will not top off the battery and if I turn on too man lights, the co2/ propane alarm sounds because the voltage drops below 11 VDC.

Good luck

Power Supply Installed----------------

New battery charger arrived yesterday, was very simple to install. It is POWER-MAX 45 AMP charger. I did not order the WFCO charger because of high failure rate. The new charger has a three year warranty.

All is working right now, When the power was first turned on to the charger, went in to a high charge rate for about 10 min's, then dropped to a maintenance charge. The lights are brighter and is very noticeable.

I first thought the battery was bad, but had it checked, Good battery. But after reading all my literature that came with my RV pertaining to Electrical system such as CO2/ propane alarm sounding and Motion "Starlight 1000" not working and only three lights showing on my battery test board and reading comments on the forum, it had to be the charger. Well it was!!!!!

I'm a happy camper now!

Daisy, I can only imagine how you're going to blame this on the awning poles too!

Apparently. Forgive and forget is my motto.

Only DWs seems to keep bringing up our shortcomings OVER and OVER and OVER again.

Dudes are not supposed to do that...

When I opened-----------------

When I opened the box on the new charger/converter, there was a note right on top of the charger that said "Ole Coot" had nothing to do with this charger, therefore you have a three warranty, will polish the case every 2 months for you under the warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right then and there, I knew OC had nothing to do with the charger! hah, How you like that OC?

Is OC a "DUDE" ?

Sounds good, now get off my back! NO FREE POLISH JOBS. THEY ARE $50/POLE as stated in the original contract. Oh, btw, you pay shipping both ways.

Most everyone that knows you DB just considers the source and lets it go. We do have pity on those older than us and are suffering from who knows what.
