Anyone know what this switch is for?

hi,

I just got a 2009 Sunseeker 2900. I can't figure out what one of the switches does. it is down low and easily reached from outside while standing on the ground. It shines red when it is on. Those two facts lead me to believe it is an outside light. the switch next to it is the yellow "entryway" light. My thought is maybe it is a "step light". but there is no fixture in the area of the step.

any insight would be great

Thanks for the reply Turbo....I got no lights like that on the outside.

Maybe the switch is for a power step. I don't have one. There is a wire harness down by the step, I'm gonna test it my meter when I get a chance.

I have three switches like that on my rig, one is a light for the outside step it's hard to see in the day light but it's located under the rig and shines on the step.

that would be sweet!

I finally got a chance to check the switch out. it must be for a power step or liht that was removed or pre wired. There is a plug by the step that gets 12v when the switch is on. I think I'll add a light there.

Do you any lights in the storage compartments? We have two switches that turn on lights in the compartments on the driver's side and another for the compartments on the passenger's side as well as one under the hood. We have a set of wires that are wire nutted off in the propane compartment that is wired into the switch also.

That light IS for your power step, although I found it useless when I had one. Having it OFF means your power steps don't come out and in automatically. Having it ON, means that your power steps will automatically retract when you start the engine. However, I found it didn't seem to matter.

Also, electric steps falter when it gets below freezing.

I think I'll pick up the wire for a light as the power step has been removed by previous owners
