I'm pretty new to the trailer thing, and I believe I either have bad batteries or converter. I'm plugged in at a rv park and my light keep dimming and frig will turn off when my furnace turns on. Also when I press the battery button to see the charge it says empty. But I don't know if that's just because I'm plugged in and not using battery.

It should read full when plugged in, It's not your batteries but your convertor. Do you have a multimeter with you? Measure the voltage going to the convertor and going out. I think I have a diagram how to do it. If you see it below I found it. Sorry both attachments are the same. You should have also gotten something on your convertor it will also be in there on testing it.
A defective battery can pull converter down. As mentioned previously disconnect batteries and then plug camper back in and test voltage out of converter. Should be close to 13.6 volts. Large variations from this would indicate a converter problem unless something happened to the wiring. You could also take batteries to an auto parts store, most will test for free.
