Battery Advise

Good day,
As a newbie I am taking my "shakedown" trip this week to learn more about what I don't know. I have a small Ultra-lite trailer (2104) in need of a battery. I will be using the trailer hopefully, at least once a month, maybe every other month at times. Any advise, suggestions, brands or items to avoid would be helpful.

The big thing is to make sure you get a Deep Cycle battery; not an automotive battery. The next thing is to make sure you get the right "group number" that fits your battery box. Typically Group 24 or the larger Group 27. I like to look at the reserve amp minutes and get the best (biggest) number I can get. Bought mine at NAPA auto parts. Everyone has their favorite brand. Just get the right size with the highest reserve minutes you can get.

Also, I recommend keeping it in tip-top conditions using a Battery Tender while your trailer is in storeage.

They work VERY well for making your battery last and keeping it ready to go at all times.

No real "battery box" yet, so I can go bigger if I want.
Thanks for the advise.

I went with 2, 6 volt golf cart batteries on my last trailer. Capacity was really good. You just connect them in series for 12 volts...very simple. I bought them at Sam's Club for $65 each.
