Battery charging generator

I have a Champion 3500w generator that has battery charging capabilities. Should I use the battery charge through the house connection or connect the generator charging circuit to the batteries directly?

Thanks

Plug the shore power cable into the generator and let the RV's converter handle the charging.

As FirstTracks suggested, use the shore cord/"house connection". That will charge the battery much faster than the battery charge option on the generator.
