Battery Connection Spark
Just got a new 2516 pup, and I am very happy with my camper. My question is: When I reinstall my battery after charging it, I get spark while putting the positive cable wire on the positive post. I've been taught "the negative is the first one on and the first one off," and I live by that rule. Could something in the trailer be drawing a lot of juice from the battery? If so, I how do I turn the whatever off so my battery won't spark? The main switch to the lights is off and the stove is in its travel position on the floor.

You can add a battery disconnect switch and make the final connection that way, but there is always something on when the battery is connected, At a min the CO/propane detector is on, If you have a remote control radio it us always drawing some power.

Hmm, my thinking is positive first on & last off. That way if the loose cable touches something it's your ground wire, not a live wire, therefore no spark.

Connect the positive first and disconnect the negative first, much less chance of creating a short with the wrench. You may still get a small spark when you connect the neg.

I agree, negative is first off, last on. How do I remember that? Installed negative first and then was cranking on the positive cable bolt on a car many years ago, and the wrench connected with a cross brace. Then I banged my head on the bottom of the hood when I jumped.
I do not have a disconnect switch, but I remove the 30A inline fuses before disconnecting and don't install until connected and never had a spark. (If one battery, there will only be one inline fuse.)

Smart charger capacitors
These caps are usually the source of the large spark on battery hookup. You can verify the spark source as caps if you spark it a few times in succession. The spark intensity will dimish fairly rapidly.

I don't get a large spark when connection but I do get a spark. I figure that between the circuit boards for the fridge and water heater, LP detector, the radio, the new Lippert sides that have the brakes energized when in position, it adds up.

Your electronic circuits hate to have power attached with no ground or a floating ground. It is the best way to blow them out. That would say positive on last and off first.
