Battery Connections

Hello,

E-Pro 14FK

The dealer connected 2 -12v batteries in parallel correctly....
Camper to Positive 1 - jumped to positive 2.
Camper to Negative 2 - jumped to negative 1.

The (I think) inverter and solar are connected to battery 1 negative and battery 2 positive.

Should the solar be connected to battery 1 positive and battery 2 negative? Or does it matter and the dealer setup is okay?

I have seen videos with solar on battery 1 positive and battery 2 negative, but, the dealer did not do it like that.

Which is correct?

Thanks for any input.

I think the best way for charging is to put pos to pos on bat one and neg to neg bat two in parallel. However the way your dealer did it will work but not optimum.

The dealer has connected it properly and the optimum way.

The OP explained how it is hooked up and that is hooked up in a balanced charging way.

with only two batteries, it seems that he has it set up as "balanced charging.

In my tiny bit of understanding, as long as it’s hooked up to one battery’s positive and the other battery’s negative, it doesn’t really matter which way they are (bat1+/bat2- or bat1-/bat2+).

Your dealer’s connections sound fine to me.

X3, connected correctly. Most will connect positive to batt #1 first, but there is nothing wrong with the way as described. Without pictures, they may have done it like that to keep the wiring a bit more tidy. May have done so there were not too many connections stacked on the same terminals.
