Battery Disconnect?

While storing my 5th wheel at my home during the travel season, I typically leave the unit connected to AC shore power. I've never had any problems with the battery being overcharged or "boiled dry", but am wondering if it would be prudent to use the battery disconnect switch as an additional measure to prevent those from happening. Thanks!

positions
battery 1 on 2 is off
battery 2 on 1 is off
battery 1 and 2 on
battery 1 and 2 off

that way I can kill both batteries or keep one offline for reserve or use both for longer amp hours .

My switch is red but it does the same. Normal position for me is both on.

Is one or the other batteries should go bad, I can just switch it out and not ruin a camping trip.
